Celebration of Learning
Thank you to the many families who attended our Celebration of Learning on Wednesday! It was common for guests to stay well past one hour, visiting different classrooms and deeply engaging with their children to reflect upon their goals and growth during this school year.
Your children and teachers spent a great amount of time and consideration to create such a powerful day. Since the beginning of the school year, teachers and students have worked in concert with each other to establish goals, create engaging learning experiences, identify the best way(s) to communicate growth and even practiced their presentations so that they would be clear and accurate. While visiting the classrooms, we were filled with pride to see how many families took the time to ask their children meaningful questions and even engage in learning experiences! In order to grow, it is critical to pause and reflect, so thank you for helping your children succeed. Please enjoy a few photos and videos by clicking this link here.
ECP Events: Getting Ready for K5! and Welcome to New Families!
On Thursday and Friday morning, we offered brief orientations for families who would be transitioning into K5 next year and for new families to EAB who are joining K3 or K4, respectively. While we will have more in-depth Curriculum Coffees at the start of the new school year, these events were intended to initiate the conversation about transitions and to help families identify things they can do at the start of the school year so that parents, children and their new teachers all are successful and can develop new relationships! If you were unable to attend, please find the resources that were shared.

World Peace Field Day: Tuesday, June 6
-
ECP and Grade 1 Field Day (9:00-11:30 A.M.)
-
Grade 2-5 Field Day (1:00-3:00PM)
Mr. Abhay, a poet, diplomat and father of a third grader at EAB says, “Whichever country we come from, we all have one entity in common. Our planet”. Mr. Abhay is helping to release an international version of the Earth Anthem on Monday, June 5 in the spirit of World Peace. Here is a beautiful video of the song that we encourage you to view.
During World Peace Field Day at EAB, all children will be mixed into groups (K3 - Grade 1 in the morning and Grades 2-5 in the afternoon), participating in different physical activities that are competitive and collaborative. It is a fun and organized event for children to learn together with new students! By Monday, please check homeroom websites about the information for the assigned colors and countries for each child.
For this event, we encourage your child to bring sunscreen that can be applied easily and a water bottle. We will provide bananas, apples and tangerines as a special snack!
Saying Goodbye
This time of year is bittersweet! As we say goodbye to some of our lower school colleagues WE are grateful for the time we have had together!
If you get a chance or moment to be with our staff who will be leaving, please thank them for spending time here at The American School of Brasilia. We are all responsible for creating a great school and at EAB we have a great school!
