Lower School Sites

Please visit our grade-level websites each week, as they are updated to include new information and resources for you to enjoy!

Keeping Children Safe and Responsible with technology

Please join us on Tuesday, January 31 to discuss how children and families can effectively use technology.  Part of the workshop will include an optional discussion: We encourage you to send any questions or observations to jmcmullen@eabdf.br in advance!

MAP Testing and Dates

We remind families that students in Grades 2-5 will complete MAP tests in the areas of Math and Reading.  Teachers and students will use this information to help inform instructional decisions to support learning.  As always, students should arrive to school well-rested and comfortable.  If your child is absent or sick, we will have opportunities for taking the assessment at another time.  If you are interested in receiving your child’s results, please contact Paola in the Lower School Office.  Reports can be sent at the end of our testing window, after February 17.

Parenting!  We all try to do our best with this most important job!

Here are just a few Tips to help with this incredible job:

Take Charge:  Children CRAVE limits as it helps them manage.  It also sends a message of love that you care so much about them and you want them to be safe that is why you set boundaries.

Don't try to fix everything:  Give children a chance to find their own solutions.  Do not immediately rush to save them as you want them to be self reliant and resilient.

Remember Discipline is not punishment:  Enforce the limits this teaches your children how to behave in the world and helps them to become competent, caring and in control.

Be the role model your children deserve:  Kids learn by watching their parents. Modeling appropriate, respectful good behavior works much better than telling them what to do.
