In the final weeks leading up to Graduation Day 2022, EAB will celebrate each of its Seniors via the Senior Spotlight. The High School Faculty is committed to making sure each member of the Class of 2022 knows how much they have meant to this school and how proud we are of them. Today, the Senior in the spotlight is Cecília Farag. Cecilia has been a proud member of the EAB Community since she arrived on campus as a three-year old 15 years ago.
After creating "15 years' worth of memories" at EAB, Cecília had a hard moment when choosing just one to highlight. Still, the most remarkable memories were the ones she made on class trips. From her first trip to the zoo in K3 until the senior trip to the Chapada Imperial, they all have a special place in her heart. However, one of her favorite memories was made on a trip to Paraty in 8th grade "that marked the start of (her) friendship and sisterhood with (her) two best friends".
Cecília has spent more time at EAB than any other place she has been in her entire life. She has "always considered EAB (her) home", and she "will miss coming home every week". Saying good morning to the guards, laughing with her friends, and learning from her teachers are things she "has taken for granted several times", but she "will most definitely miss when (she leaves) EAB". She "will miss the feeling of belonging". In her words, EAB has transformed her into a leader, empath, and giver. She is proud of the person she is because of her 15 years spent in this school.
That is why she has numerous people whom she wants to show her gratitude to, but she would like to thank her father especially. In her words: "He was a man that fought every single day to see me happy, and I am very grateful to him for allowing me to receive an amazing education. He raised me to appreciate the privilege I have to study at EAB. Unfortunately, he will not see me graduate from the school I grew up in, but I am certain he would be proud of me and of who I have become".
Her teachers will always remember her as "such a joy to have around" and a person who has "the means to brighten anyone's day with her smiles and pure desire to make the world a better place". They describe her as a shining light, a strong, thoughtful, and "delightful young person with a heart of gold and shoes of cork". Her jokes and positivity will be surely missed. The most profound desire of the High School Faculty is to see her flying high and as far as she wants. EAB is lucky to have had her around during those 15 years and now it is time to share the rare jewel she is with the world.
