In the final weeks leading up to Graduation Day 2022, EAB will celebrate each of its Seniors via the Senior Spotlight. he High School Faculty is committed to making sure each member of the Class of 2022 knows how much they have meant to this school and how proud we are of them. Today, the Senior in the spotlight is Hugo Ishaq Fernandes.
Kind, compassionate and curious are three brilliant descriptors for Hugo! A student whose positivity and smile light up a classroom, Hugo has been a pleasure to have at EAB for so many years. His teachers routinely comment on his honest nature and sincere attitude. Hugo has so many wonderful memories at EAB that are filled with his friends and his teachers. One memory that Hugo treasures the most comes from the dodgeball tournament during first semester senior year. Hugo was on a team, filled with some of his closest friends, and towards the end of the tournament Hugo was the last man standing on his team. Hugo was pitted against two other members of the opposite team who were competing for the win! In a moment of sports greatness, Hugo managed to eliminate both players by catching a thrown ball while immediately throwing that ball back to strike the other player! I think the entire school will remember shouting and applauding Hugo's moment of dodgeball greatness!
Hugo feels an immense sense of pride and accomplishment when he looks back on his time at EAB, and specifically references his pride in becoming completely fluent in English. He would like to thank his parents, teachers, counselors, and, of course, his friends. These people in his life have made all experiences at EAB, from childhood to his teenage years, unforgettable. The EAB community will surely miss Hugo's presence next year, but we wish him all the best as he plans to study to become an attorney!
