In the final weeks leading up to Graduation Day 2022, EAB will celebrate each of its Seniors via the Senior Spotlight. The High School Faculty is committed to making sure each member of the Class of 2022 knows how much they have meant to this school and how proud we are of them. Today, the Senior in the spotlight is Muhammad Awab. Muhammad has been a proud member of the EAB Community for the past two years.
Since arriving at EAB and joining the IB program, Muhammad has only had a short time to reflect on his memories of EAB. Arriving to a new country, finding friends was difficult to start off with but he thanks his English teacher for introducing him to his new hobby of writing poetry, crediting this as one of his favourite memories. Another standout for Muhammad was the trips to Chapada Imperial and the JK Bridge with his year group to take their end-of-year photos. These are the memories that Muhammad cherishes the most.
On leaving EAB Muhammad reflects on the impact his teachers have had on him over the past year. "The willingness of everyone to help in every way and form. The feeling of being welcomed into every class and by every teacher, no matter how you are performing academically and their efforts to make school as easy for you as possible." Muhammad is especially proud of winning the TOK award last year, which he was a little surprised at, but admits it gave him a huge boost in confidence.
Muhammad asked for the opportunity to use this space to thank his teachers, saying "I would also like to thank the teachers for constantly being there at all times, helping me to excel academically in hopes of me becoming a better student, make a greater contribution to this community and to the outside world."
His teachers will always remember him as a quiet, kind-natured, and hard-working student who mainly came out of his shell during a badminton game or on the dodgeball court. He will also be remembered for his sense of humor and way with words.
