Withdrawals

The following withdrawal procedures are meant to support all departing families in their transition.  

If you are planning to withdraw from EAB anytime during the school year, a notification MUST be given to the Admissions Office.  This notification can be done either by email to admissions@eabdf.br, by phone,  or in person at the Admissions Office. In order to allow the office sufficient time to prepare withdrawal/transfer documentation, the notification should be provided as far in advance of the withdrawal date as possible.

LOWER SCHOOL

  • At least ten days prior to the last day of attendance, parents should request a withdrawal form from the Admissions Office. Parents are responsible for obtaining withdrawal signatures from the Classroom Teacher, Lower School Principal, Librarian, Canteen, and Business Office and then return the form to the Admissions Office.

  • Withdrawal/transfer documents will not be released until all textbooks and library materials have been returned and all school fees have been paid and the form returned to the Admissions Office.


UPPER SCHOOL

  • At least ten days prior to the last day of attendance, parents/students should request a withdrawal form from the Admissions Office. The form will be taken by the student to his/her teachers, Upper School Principal, Librarian, Canteen, and Business Office and then return the form to the Admissions Office.

  • Withdrawal/transfer documents will not be released until all textbooks and library materials have been returned and all school fees have been paid and the form returned to the Admissions Office.

Checkout Procedure

Students must return all school and library books, instruments and other school-owned materials. Please make sure you do not have any school books or other materials at home. Any lost books/materials and any outstanding charges, including but not limited to tuition, extra curricular trips, must be paid for at the Business Office. Canteen bills must be settled at the Canteen and the canteen management must sign for food service payment clearance. The Tech office, next to the Middle School Makerspace,  also requires you to stop by and checkout.Upper School students may be responsible to obtain all the required signatures for grades and book clearance.  Also, should you have any medication at the nurse’s office, be sure to pick it up before your last day. Use the Withdrawal Clearance form below to checkout.

Withdrawal Packet

The Admissions Office will prepare a withdrawal packet for each student leaving EAB. The Lower School withdrawal packet contains the last two EAB report cards, a letter stating the dates of enrollment and the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test results (Grades 2 - 10 only). Students participating in the Brazilian program will also receive a copy of the “histórico escolar” and/or “ficha individual .The Upper School withdrawal packet contains the student's official transcript, a letter stating the grades completed at EAB and the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test results (Grades 2 - 10 only). Students participating in the Brazilian program will also receive a copy of the “histórico escolar” and/or “ficha individual . Please let us know if there are any other documents you may need.

Additional Withdrawal Packets/Official School Records

If needed, additional withdrawal packets can be prepared upon request (up to three copies at no additional cost) or sent electronically to the student´s new school. If more than three copies are needed, there will be an additional cost of R$20 per copy. PLEASE PICK UP YOUR SCHOOL RECORDS AT THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE THE MONDAY FOLLOWING THE LAST OFFICIAL DAY OF CLASSES. IF YOU ARE LEAVING BRASÍLIA BEFORE THE LAST OFFICIAL DAY OF SCHOOL, PLEASE INFORM THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE.

Letters of Recommendation

Arrangements are coordinated directly with the professional who will be writing the letter. Please follow the instructions below when requesting a letter of recommendation:

LOWER SCHOOL

Parents are responsible to contact the Classroom Teacher, Counselor, and/or Principal to request letters of recommendation. Please submit the request at least 3 weeks prior to due date. These letters are sent directly to the school the student is applying for.  Confidential Recommendation letters are NEVER released to students or parents. Please inform the Admissions office that you have requested these letters.

UPPER SCHOOL

Students are responsible to contact Teachers, Counselor, and/or Principal to request recommendation letters. Please submit the request at least 3 weeks prior to due date. These letters are sent directly to the school the student is applying for. Confidential Recommendation letters are NEVER released to students or parents. Please inform the Admissions office that you have requested these letters.
