The Performing Arts offered at EAB include Theatre, General Music, Band, and Choir.
In the Lower School, students experience music through playing, singing, and music games. They learn about music of different cultures as well as basics of rhythm and note reading.
In the Upper School, students who participate in Band and Choir improve their music reading, tone, technique, and ensemble skills, while building on their knowledge of music history and theory. There are two concerts per year, at the end of each semester. We experience a variety of music, from standard repertoire to popular styles. In addition, the performing ensembles participate in the annual Celebration of the Arts event, held in the second semester.
In Upper School Theatre, students develop their performance skills and learn the importance of communication, both verbally and non-verbally. Students also explore the work of various theatre companies and theatre theorists through research and application. With the addition of lighting and sound facilities in our Drama studio, technical design is becoming an area of exploration weaved into lessons and built upon each year.
