Activities & Athletics
EAB Activities & Athletics is committed to enhancing a student's life through positive experiences in extracurricular offerings. We strive to connect with our Mission & Vision statements through our programs of Club EAB, Upper School (US) Clubs, and Athletics. We value helping students achieve excellence beyond the classroom, promoting new areas of growth by positively impacting character, and enhancing interactions through leadership opportunities.
Lower School
Club EAB offers extracurricular programs designed to support and enrich the curriculum for Lower School students (K5-5th grade) by encouraging and nurturing the development of talents and skills aligned with EAB’s five pillars: Academics, Arts, Activities (Athletics), Leadership, and Service. Through differentiated, innovative learning experiences, Club EAB helps each child reach their full potential while fostering responsible and contributing citizens, leaders, environmental stewards, and role-model athletes.
Upper School
Activities
The purpose of Activities for US Clubs at EAB is to open various avenues for students and teachers to work together and fulfill the school’s vision to “positively impact the world through excellence in academics, activities, arts, leadership, and service.”
As most US Clubs are student-led with the support of an EAB Faculty member that acts as an Advisor, these clubs will challenge students to gain leadership skills, excel in civic, cultural, and recreational pursuits while promoting a climate of respect, support, and appreciation for the community around them. The US Clubs have certain clubs that host events/tournaments while other clubs gather for discussions of the topic.
US Clubs generally run from 3:20-4:10 p.m. or during lunch, depending on the needs and constraints of the participants.
Athletics
The purpose of Activities for Upper School (US) Clubs at EAB is to create diverse opportunities for students and teachers to collaborate, embodying the school’s vision to “positively impact the world through excellence in academics, activities, arts, leadership, and service.” Most US Clubs are student-led with the guidance of an EAB faculty member serving as an advisor. These clubs encourage students to develop leadership skills, excel in civic, cultural, and recreational activities, and foster a climate of respect, support, and community appreciation. While some clubs focus on hosting events and tournaments, others meet for engaging discussions on specific topics. US Clubs typically run from 3:20 to 4:10 p.m. or during lunch, based on the needs and schedules of the participants.
"Activities & Athletics are a key part to the development of our students and community. We value offering educationally inclusive activities and teams whenever possible. Al Burr, a former NFHS President said:
“Nowhere do you find it in education like you find it in activities, that teachers are teaching what they want to teach to students who are learning what they want to learn, and both are willing to work hour after hour on their own time after school so that everything that can be taught is taught, and everything that can be learned is learned.”
You are welcome to read our Handbook to learn more about the variety of options for Activities and Athletics our students can participate in."
