To support the continued development of our students' Portuguese writing skills, the American School of Brasília (EAB) is offering a Portuguese Curso de Redação during the 2026–2027 school year. This extracurricular course will be held weekly after regular school hours.

Classes will begin on August 17, 2026, according to the schedule provided below for each grade level.
The course will be taught by Robert Deniel for students in Grades 10, 11, and 12, and by Lorena Leite for students in Grades 6, 7, and 9.

The course is designed to develop and improve students' writing skills by expanding their mastery of writing strategies and a variety of text genres, in alignment with the competencies and assessment criteria required by both national and international examinations, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Brazilian assessments.

More than an extracurricular activity, the Portuguese Curso de Redação is an extension of the instruction provided in the classroom. It provides continuity to the learning process and is fully aligned with the curriculum expectations of the Brazilian Program. Course activities are planned collaboratively with the students' regular Portuguese teachers: Ms. Leila Maia, Ms. Lorena Leite, Ms. Camila Corrêa, Ms. Juliana Barros, and Ms. Luciana Conrado.

Please note: Grade 8 students will follow a different format. Their Portuguese Curso de Redação will be offered as an intensive semester-long program integrated into their regular class schedule and will be taught by teacher Rislene Macena.

We strongly encourage all students to participate so they can benefit from specialized instruction and continue developing their writing skills throughout the school year.

Portuguese Curso de Redação Schedule

• Grade 6: Mondays, 3:25–4:20 p.m.
• Grade 7: Thursdays, 3:25–4:20 p.m.
• Grade 9: Tuesdays, 3:25–4:20 p.m.
• Grade 10: Mondays, 3:25–4:20 p.m.
• Grade 11: Thursdays, 3:25–4:20 p.m.
• Grade 12: Tuesdays, 3:25–4:20 p.m.

Please note: Classroom locations will be communicated to students at a later date.
