We are introducing facial recognition as an additional identification method for student purchases at the Escola Gourmet, EAB Cafeteria. This feature is designed to improve security, efficiency, and transaction control — especially during peak hours.

Important Information for Families

It is NOT mandatory: Students may continue using their name at checkout as usual. Facial recognition is simply an additional option available in the system.

Parental Control & Deactivation Option

• Facial recognition may be activated within the Nutrebem platform.
• However, parents or legal guardians have full control to disable this feature at any time directly through the Nutrebem app.
• If deactivated, the biometric data is immediately excluded from the system, and the student will continue using their name or login for purchases normally.

Why implement facial recognition?
This solution helps to:

• Prevent students from using another student’s account
• Ensure financial and dietary restrictions set by parents are respected
• Reduce checkout lines and waiting time
• Increase transaction traceability and security

Data Protection & Privacy
All biometric data processing, storage, and security management are handled exclusively by Nutrebem.

According to Nutrebem’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy:

• Biometric data is stored in a secure and encrypted environment
• Facial recognition is used solely for student identification during cafeteria transactions
• Escola Gourmet does not store, manage, or access biometric data
• Parents may disable the feature at any time through the Nutrebem app
• Nutrebem operates in compliance with applicable data protection regulations, including Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD)

How to Manage this Feature
 

1. Access the Nutrebem app
2. Go to your child’s profile/settings
3. Disable facial recognition at any time if you prefer

If you choose not to use this feature, your child may continue making purchases using their name or login at checkout.
