Wednesday Morning Math Enrichment Opportunity for 7th and 8th graders
Tifin Calgani | Math Enrichment Coordinator

Hello everyone! I'm Tifin Calcagni, the Math Enrichment Coordinator here at EAB. I work with students and teachers from grades 3 through 8 to design engaging challenges that invite everyone to think like mathematicians, not just memorize formulas, but explore mysteries, spot patterns, and apply their creativity to mathematics.

This year, we’re launching a new opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students: a Wednesday morning enrichment program that takes place from 8:00–9:00, before school begins. It’s open to all students in these grades who want to engage with math in a fun, collaborative, and thought-provoking setting.

Each week, students will:

  • Build and practice problem-solving strategies
  • Participate in Math Wrangles (mathematical debates!)
  • Prepare for and compete in the Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS)
  • Play math-based games take on creative challenges
  • There’s no homework and no outside-of-class work required. The only expectation is that students who sign up commit to attending regularly, just like any other class.

Please use this registration form to sign up your child! Here is a flyer you can share with others who may be interested. We start on August 27th, in the STEAM Lab (US 19).

This program is one piece of our broader mission to build a vibrant, confident community of mathematical thinkers at EAB. We want every student to feel that they belong in math spaces, and that math is a place for curiosity, and creativity.

I hope you’ll consider signing up your child and joining us in helping to make math something every student can enjoy and feel confident doing.
