World Fest 2023
EAB Development

Our theme for this year's World Fest is Global Citizenship. According to Suzie Boss, a globally competent student can investigate the world, weigh perspectives, interact with diverse audiences, and take action. And what does global education look like at EAB? At our school, we strive to prepare our students to be global citizens who respect and understand people from different backgrounds, cultures, religions, and nationalities. Our students are encouraged to take action to make the world a better place, "Learners inspiring learners."

Celebrating World Fest is a fantastic opportunity for our students to sharpen their skills and knowledge to become compassionate global citizens and understanding of people from diverse backgrounds. It is an opportunity to celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Leading up to World Fest:

  • Lower School: Every class in the Lower School will be representing a country of their choice. Students will learn important facts about their country and share them with their peers. Room parents will liaise with homeroom teachers by inviting guest speakers and helping with special projects.
  • Upper School: Participation at the Upper School level is student-led and comes from our student clubs and activities. Students are welcome to book a table at World Fest to present a project, student work, or fundraise.

On May 6th, we will come together to celebrate learning through music, art, food, student presentations, student-led displays, family-led displays, and Embassy booths. More information to come!

PTO

World Fest is an opportunity for parents and students to share their country's food, culture, and history with the EAB school community. We invite parents to volunteer for this event through our PTO sign-up form. Suppose your country is not represented by the LS EAB classes (please view the Lower School portion of the Bulletin). In that case, we invite parents from the same country to organize a country table and share their culture and history (please email development@eabdf.br by April 10th to reserve a table).

The PTO is also holding a Silent Auction as a fundraiser for our activities throughout the year. Want to help get donations? Want to donate a product, service, or artwork? Email us at pto@eabdf.br to help!
