Interested in a creative career? The Savannah College of Art and Design has 36 programs to help you hone your creative skills and apply them to real world situations. Nestled in the heart of Georgia, SCAD stands as a beacon of creativity, innovation, and artistic excellence. Some program highlights include: architecture, the business of beauty and fragrance, equestrian studies, film and television, industrial design, interactive game design and development, preservation design, and social strategy and management. They have a wide range of minor options as well; from sneaker design to music production to museum design.
SCAD has 3 campuses: Savannah, Atlanta, and Lacoste. As a student, you will be challenged creatively in your classes by industry professionals and esteemed artists.
Student life at SCAD offers things outside of the art world as well. The mascot is a bee, and there are many different sports that students can compete in from swimming to golf to soccer (or football). Their campuses offer athletics facilities to the casual athlete as well. Student clubs focus on creative arts, but there are also many service clubs and cultural clubs to participate and lead in.
Aside from having on-campus housing, there are other ways that SCAD supports students. They have their own office for International Student Support which organizes trips and events for international students.
Important to know for our families, graduates of SCAD have a 99% employment rate 10 months after graduation.
Fun fact: SCAD's mascot is the bee! Don't get stung by the competition if you're an athlete, bee well if you're taking care of yourself, and common areas might be referred to as the hive.
Notable Alumni: India Arie (singer/songwriter), Jason Burrows (Marvel Comics), Tracy Yardley (Sonic the Hedgehog), Maria Garcia (Emmy Award Winner), and at EAB- Eduarda Trivelli. Ask her about her experience there!
