Senior Spotlight: Eduardo Estrella de Queiroz
May 27, 2020
Eduardo has been a proud Bull since arriving on campus in second grade. A keen sportsman, he has enjoyed many successes on the football field. He says his favourite memories will be "all the soccer memories". He demonstrated leadership skills on and off the pitch. His contributions to leading EduArtes was always appreciated by the student-teachers, Ms Bree and the learners. His competitive nature drove others to be better.
Senior Spotlight: Luiza Boiteux
May 27, 2020
Arriving on campus in tenth grade, Luiza has had a tremendously positive impact on the community ever since. Indeed, there is not an activity, or event, at the school that has not benefited from Luiza’s involvement in it: from her organization and promotion of fundraisers for her various service commitments, including her work for Crèche Primavera, to her role as Creative Director of the school’s newspaper, the “Bullseye”, to her membership of the National Honor Society, Luiza has graced us with her compassionate presence.
Senior Spotlight: Erick Martins
May 27, 2020
Erick has been a proud member of the EAB Community for the past twelve years. We have watched him grow into a strong and mature man, who can face the challenges that life brings with honesty, grace and dignity. Erick's relationships with teachers and teaching assistants have always been excellent. His favourite memory is of Ms Isabel, who paid him some home visits after his surgery, to tell him she missed his bad jokes. Erick is a great friend; he feels proud of "the people he made friends with" during his years at EAB.
Senior Spotlight: Luiz Carvalho
May 27, 2020
Luiz has been a proud and dedicated Bull for the past 13 years. He is part of the fabric of EAB, known and respected by the community for his determination and resilience. Luiz is most proud of how his "hard work was recognised" by his peers and teachers. As Ms Teresa says, "over the years, he has become more and more aware of the opportunity that was in his hands and became a hard working, responsible student".
Senior Spotlight: Andre Nelson
May 26, 2020
Andre has been a dedicated member of the EAB Community since arriving on campus in tenth grade. Although Andre's sports involvement was hampered by injury, he still managed to leave his mark on sports in the High School. From captaining the softball team in his Junior year to the incredble dedication and commitment he made to improving his basketball skills, Andre's growth as a player and leader has been wonderful.
Senior Spotlight: Rhiannon Dettman
May 26, 2020
Rhiannon has been a proud Bull since her arrival to EAB at the beginning of grade 11. There have been very few teams, committees or events since her arrival in which she did not play a major role. She was a regular speaker in High School assemblies, rallying support for her teams and clubs. Of her many successful ventures, she will remember her team winning NR in the Senior year, a soccer game we are all unlikely to forget soon. She will miss "seeing her friends and teammates" around campus.
Senior Spotlight: McArthur Di Andrade Camargo Filho
May 26, 2020
There is no-one who knows the school better, or who has better contributed to it, than McArthur, having joined EAB at the age of three and spending his entire academic life here. From the now legendary performances at the annual “Moth” spoken story event, to his community service work and his organization of the band festival EAB AMP intending, in his own words, to “unite all through the power of music,” McArthur has been tireless in his involvement in school-related activities.
Senior Spotlight: Israel Oliveira
May 26, 2020
Israel has been a proud member of the EAB Community since first grade. A popular member of the Senior group, he achieved this popularity through consistently being "very considerate" (Ms Simone) towards all members of the EAB community. His cheerful attitude and "good spirits" (Mr Martorelli) could always be counted on to liven up any moment. Israel is proud of his learning, rightfully so.
Senior Spotlight: Thomas Brassanini
May 25, 2020
Thomas has been a proud and dedicated Bull twice in his life, spending the years from K5 through grade four in the EAB Lower School and then returning home to campus at the beginning of grade 10. Possessed of a great sense of humor, a genuine concern for others and being impeccably courteous, Thomas has proved himself popular among both staff and fellow students alike.
Senior Spotlight: Ojaswi Lal
May 25, 2020
Ojaswi has been a proud member of the EAB Community since arriving to the EAB campus at the beginning of grade 10. EAB was Ojaswi's first experiece with an "international environment". As Mr Jones recalls Ojaswi "barely knew how to play basketball" but "OJ" did not let this stand in the way of becoming an "integral part" of our EAB Basketball team. This reflects OJ's approach to EAB life in general.
Senior Spotlight: Delicia Lowe
May 25, 2020
It’s always challenging for students joining a new school, especially arriving in senior year. This is exactly what Delicia, or “Deli” as she is affectionately known to all of us here at EAB, has done, demonstrating just how gracefully this difficult task can be achieved. Deli impressed from almost the very first day, her high levels of maturity and understanding making her immediately popular with both staff and students alike.
Senior Spotlight: Viktor Fiskum
May 25, 2020
Arriving at EAB in his tenth year, Viktor has been a dedicated member of the community ever since. His quiet presence in class belies both the level of his involvement in the school and the incisiveness of his intellect. As well as founding the Mathematics and Science Tutoring club with a fellow student, he is also a member of the Mathematics Honor Society, and an active participant in the school Debate and Chess clubs.
Senior Spotlight: Maddy Holman
May 22, 2020
Maddy has been a proud and dedicated Bull since arriving on campus in ninth grade. A stalwart of the EAB stage, Maddy has many happy memories to choose and would find it "hard to even come close to choosing a single favourite memory". But she believes that when she thinks back on EAB, she will recall Field Days foremost, because they "always embody what she has come to love about EAB".
Senior Spotlight: Carol Telino
May 22, 2020
Carol has been a proud member of the EAB Community since arriving on campus at the beginning of tenth grade. Although only on campus for three years, Carol has made a lot of memories, but her favorite focuses on "making friends with two girls that I met on my first day...By helping each other, we managed to adapt better to the school, maturing and growing together as students...even today, these girls have become my best friends."
Senior Spotlight: Riley Tustison
May 22, 2020
Riley has been a proud Bull since arriving on campus in eighth grade. Throughout his time at EAB, Riley's favorite memory was his ninth grade field day, where "no one expected us to win any events," but they came in as underdogs and won dodgeball, "a really hard sport to win". Reflecting back, Riley will most miss the downtime at EAB - hanging out with friends during lunch. "There was always something so fun about just eating and hanging out".
Senior Spotlight: Ryley Ermatinger
May 21, 2020
Ryley has been a dedicated member of the EAB Community since becoming a Bull at the beginning of eleventh grade. Like many of her teammates, her "favourite EAB memory is winning the BIG 4 softball tournament in 2019". She is "thankful" to have brought "home gold" but more so, she recognises the enormous effort that everyone put into improving as a team. Ryley believes "the small things...make her happy" when they "include the people she loves" so she will miss the "daily routine" of "walking down the hallway and saying hello to friends".
Senior Spotlight: Diogo Matos
May 21, 2020
A proud “Bull” since the age of five, Diogo mentions in his own self-reflection that he is most proud of the development of his own character transforming himself, in his own words, from “a kid, who for the most part, didn’t want…to do anything” to “a young adult who is more determined than he was before,” and he is surely right to do so. All of us at EAB would agree that Diogo has grown into an impressive, thoughtful person, his dedication and effort demonstrated in his commitment on and off the basketball court.
Senior Spotlight: Sam Tustison
May 21, 2020
Sam has been a committed and proud member of the EAB Community since arriving on campus in eighth grade. In his five years at EAB, Sam notes that his favorite memory was being part of the basketball team in ninth grade. He was new to playing basketball, and remembers the fun he had with the older "dudes". The team won most of their games and earned fourth place at his first and only NR competition. Thinking back, Sam commented that he will most "miss lunchtime with my friends, talking about the most random things and laughing a lot".
Senior Spotlight: Roberto Alagemovits
May 20, 2020
Roberto has been a proud Bull since he was three years old and has been part of the EAB Community for his entire academic life. He has "so many great memories" at EAB and we have many great memories of Roberto, all of them including his infectious smile because he was rarely spotted without it! Roberto, like so many of his teammates, will remember when the softball team won at NR.
Senior Spotlight: Artur Tupinamba Gomes
May 20, 2020
Artur has been a dedicated member of the EAB Community since arriving on campus at the beginning of fourth grade. His favorite memory of EAB centers around his first day on campus, almost eight years ago now. "Being the 'new kid' with almost zero knowledge of the English language, I felt welcomed by my classmates, notably Andrey and Mc, who included me in their group." He is most proud of his transformation during his time at EAB: "I started at EAB being a reticent, shy, and introverted kid, to [now] a confident and determined student".
Senior Spotlight: Cata Candeas
May 20, 2020
Catarina arrived to EAB when she was four and through the years, and a number of different changes, has been an EAB student for a total of 10 years. During her time at EAB, Cata has taken the stage on a number of occasions, and some of her favorite memories are on the EAB stage: "Facing my fears and performing in the Talent Show with my friends, as well as playing in EAB AMP! With the band 'Perhaps Certain People'".
Senior Spotlight: Catarina Lins
May 19, 2020
Catarina has been a member of the EAB community her entire academic life and, as such, knows the school and those who serve in it as well as anyone can. Some time President of the EduArtes service activity, teaching younger, more disadvantaged kids English – something typical of her kind, caring nature – as well as her membership of the cheerleading team, what most strongly comes across about Catarina over the years has been her resilience and her determination to improve herself, this last being something she has most obviously achieved.
Senior Spotlight: Manoel Sobral Neto
May 19, 2020
Manoel has been a proud member of the EAB Community for the past fourteen years, longer than almost anyone! During those years, his favorite memory was when he was invited to perform "Free Bird" with some of the EAB faculty members. He commented, "I was honored that they thought of me and thoroughly enjoyed playing the song with faculty members that I look up to". Having been at EAB for so long, he sees the school as more than a community; he sees it as a family.
Senior Spotlight: Bella Marques
May 19, 2020
Bella is, as they say, a veteran of EAB, gracing us with her presence since the age of four. She is, in many ways, a walking embodiment of all that is great and good about the school: a member of the National Honor Society, Head Delegate at MUN, a SALT member and Chair at the BSBMUN hosted by EAB itself, where Bella addressed a full assembly of students, faculty and community members to open the conference.
Senior Spotlight: Laura Uccello
May 19, 2020
One of the academic stars of the Class of 2020, Laura joined the school in fourth grade and, since then, she has dedicated herself to making both the school, and the wider community, a better place by her presence in it. From the “so many joyful memories,” Laura foregrounds some of her most indelible ones deriving from her experience of the “red, black and white inside the courts and fields of NR,” the 2019 Big 8 soccer tournament being the greatest highlight.
Senior Spotlight: Valentina Foresti
May 18, 2020
Valentina joined the EAB community at the beginning of 11th grade, just in time to start the IB Program. However, neither her late start at EAB nor the rigorous demands of her studies hindered her from getting involved in life on campus. She notes that the transition to EAB was difficult, because she had been studying mostly in Portuguese, and coming to EAB, she had to take almost all of her IB classes in English, but she is most proud of her success in that.
Senior Spotlight: Sarah Grace Eagleeye Wiggins
May 18, 2020
Sarah started and ended her academic career at EAB as she was a student from K3-K5 and then again from tenth grade through her Senior Year. Sarah will miss "all the little things that make EAB, EAB". She will particularly miss her "version of The Breakfast Club" even though it was a messy affair: waffle maker hash browns; a surplus of OJ and watermelon spoons! She thinks her favourite memory will be a "compilation of all the glimpses" that made up her day to day life at EAB: misto quentes; Flavio's assembly spirit; Spirit weeks; memes and "fistbumps and high fives".
Senior Spotlight: Luisa De Januario
May 18, 2020
Luisa came to EAB in the middle of 10th grade. During the past two and a half years, Luisa has developed so many memories that she can't choose just one to share. She thinks that "every day at EAB is a memory to me, every friend, every teacher." She reflected on and is most proud of how much she has grown, academically and personally, since coming to EAB, commenting, "In the beginning of grade 11, I was so scared of everything. Scared of my teachers. Scared of what was coming to me. But Mr. Jones was so welcoming to me, that I felt like I could be whoever I wanted in that class...I enjoyed [that class] since day one to the last day."
Senior Spotlight: Sofia Lima Szervinska
May 15, 2020
Sofia has been with us here at EAB since she was four years old! What most strongly comes across about her is her positive energy and her unfailing courtesy towards all with whom she interacts. Returning from an educational exchange program in France Sofia applied, to very good effect, her growth and maturity to her junior and senior years and her IB studies.
Senior Spotlight: Maria Victoria Venancio Reis
May 15, 2020
Maria, or “Mavi” as she is affectionately known by all of us here, has been an “EAB Bull” since she was three years old! There is no-one who knows EAB better, and who better knows her. Gracing us all with her effusive good humor and warmth over the years, it has been a pleasure seeing Mavi grow into the highly accomplished person she is today.
Senior Spotlight: Sophia Umbeck
May 15, 2020

Senior Spotlight: Ana Luiza Santiago
May 14, 2020
Ana Luiza has been a proud member of the EAB Community since her freshman year. She immediately impressed us with her impeccable attitude to learning and her determination to succeed. Having family at working at EAB and making "friends who became family" made EAB "the best of both worlds" for Ana Luiza, who feels privileged to have had her father, brother and best friends all in one place!
Senior Spotlight: Paola Rojas
May 14, 2020
Arriving as a sophomore, Paola settled in quickly, where EAB “soon became very significant in my life.” She went about making her presence felt in quiet, but highly effective, ways, not least in the many extra-curricular activities she became involved in, Paola’s strong sense of service being clearly a part of her soul.
Senior Spotlight: Samantha Holman
May 14, 2020
Sam has been a proud and dedicated Bull for four years, joining EAB at the beginning of her ninth grade year. An energetic athlete, she was happiest when planning events, leading her peers and being active. Sam led softball and cross country teams, showing her passion for sports; she played for our volleyball and basketball teams too.
Senior Spotlight: Victor Rasia Montenegro
May 13, 2020
Victor joined EAB in sixth grade so we have had plenty of time to get to know him very well and how much he has meant to our community. What he will most miss is the “green tables” area of the school, the open space overlooking the field and, in the distance, the lake. It is hard to imagine a more beautiful campus, a “perfect place for hanging out with my friends.”
Senior Spotlight: Maria Clara Bittencourt
May 13, 2020
Maria has been at EAB since sixth grade and has come to love the place she feels is home. After a time as an exchange student attending a school in England during her tenth year, Maria returned to EAB for her junior and senior years where she continued to grow, both personally and academically. Maria’s favorite memory of EAB is “laughing with friends during lunch that brightened my days at school”.
Senior Spotlight: Krista Alexis Carr
May 13, 2020
Krista joined the EAB Community at the beginning of 10th grade. She has grown as a person so much during her time with us, making a great impression on her peers and the community. Krista herself thinks she does not know "what kind of person" she "would be if she had not" attended EAB. Her favourite memory at EAB is a tale of courage, resilience and friendship, as Krista and her classmates learned how to slide between the bases playing softball.
Senior Spotlight: Emma Holm-Olsen
May 11, 2020
Arriving in the tenth year, Emma settled in quickly and soon made her presence felt in many aspects of school life. In her own words, Emma feels she has grown “academically, socially and personally” during her time at EAB and, given her leadership as Editor-in-chief of the “Bullseye” newspaper, in addition to her organization of, and participation in, the Soapbox speaking event, she is right to say so.
Senior Spotlight: Chloe Posthuma Coelho
May 11, 2020
Joining EAB in seventh grade, Chloe has since proved to be a very popular student with both staff and students alike. She has made great efforts to take part in all kinds of EAB activities, particularly those that gave her an opportunity to show us her aesthetic sense.
