The Arts is one of the five pillars that supports the foundation of the school. The Silvia Cancado Center for the Arts (CFTA) is the home to our Visual and Performing Arts center.
The Visual Arts are represented through exploratory classes, in the Lower and Middle school, while it evolves into more specific courses in the High School where students learn to focus on particular techniques in classes such as, Art Themes, Studio Art, IB Art, as well as, Digital Photo and Digital Video.
In the realm of Performing Arts, students have a chance to develop singing, acting, and instrument playing through programs called Music, GleEAB, Drama, and Band. Band classes include exploratory classes, Wind Ensemble, Jazz and Concert Band. Drama classes include Movement, Voice, Musical Theatre, Shakespeare Studies/performance as well as Stanislavski and Sanford Meisner acting techniques.
Each of the Arts Program helps develop the artistic ability existent in every child through theory, application, practice, and performance, while respecting individual differences and limitations.
