Anna More & David Bergknut | Co-Chairs, Head of School Search Committee

EAB Head of School Search Committee and Board of Directors is pleased to announce the campus visits for three outstanding finalists for Head of School. Not only have all these candidates had impressive trajectories in international education, they also all fit very closely with the position statement.

All parents, alumni, students, and staffulty are cordially invited to attend the discussions with each of the invited candidates. Students have already arranged with principals time to meet the candidates. Please check below for your designated day and time.

Parents & Alumni  Staffulty

The name and short bio of each candidate will be announced in a separate e-mail communication shortly prior to his or her visit.

We encourage all stakeholders to participate in as many of these sessions as possible. Those who participate will be asked to fill out an opinion survey immediately after the end of the visit. When making its final decision among the candidates, the Board will pay close attention to the input of our many stakeholders.

We are confident that the candidates will be as impressed by EAB as we are, and we invite you to participate and show them what makes our school and community so special!

Head of School Search Committee

On Thursday, October 5 th , members of the Head of School Search Committee hosted a session with
parents to present an update on the search process. We thank all of those who attended.
As we have previously communicated, the Board of Directors has hired the international search firm
Carney Sandoe & Associates to assist in our Head of School Search.

On August 10th-11th of this year, Carney Sandoe consultants Deborah Welch and John Chandler
conducted on-site and virtual visits to EAB to hear from our stakeholders. During their visits, they
were able to speak with many members of our community, including staff, faculty, students, parents
and alumni. At the end of the visit they also sent a survey to our entire community.

We thank all who took the time to participate in discussion groups and the survey. This input has
been essential to identifying a shared vision of our school and the ideal qualities of our new Head of
School. As they have written to the Board, Deb and John came away from their visit “impressed
with the high level of interest in and commitment to the school, now and into the future.”

As a result of their visit to EAB, the consultants created a position description that will be provided
to all potential Head of School candidates. You may find this document and other important
information about the search process on the Search Committee’s dedicated webpage.

We look forward to updating the community as the search progresses and encourage everyone in the
community to participate in this important process for our school.

Sincerely,
David Bergknut & Anna More (Co-Chairs, Search Committee)

EAB Search Committee

Dear EAB Community,

As part of our search for the next Head of School at EAB we are, with help from our consultants, using a brief online survey to ensure we capture valuable feedback from as many members of the EAB community as wish to participate.

The recent campus visit by Deb Welch and John Chandler has already ensured us of a comprehensive, inclusive, and diverse set of views about the school which we will use in further refining our criteria in the selection process for our next head. We are asking faculty, parents, trustees, and alumni/ae for their candid feedback using this method. All responses are both confidential and anonymous and go directly to our consultants who will consolidate the feedback and use it to ensure we have considered all points of view from our key constituents. The results will be very useful and will remain confidential.

The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete and will remain open until the end of the day, Tuesday, August 15. At the end you will also have an opportunity to nominate any educator known to you who might be a good fit for us. The Search Committee is deeply grateful for your participation in this process. Over the next months we look forward to keeping you apprised through announcements and our website of the important milestones in the search process. To complete the survey, please click on the link sent to your email.

Best wishes and thank you,
Anna More & David Bergknut (Co-Chairs, Head of School Search Committee)
